Levi is an award-winning British screenwriter and director based in London, their career has been defined by emotionally resonant and visually intimate storytelling. Emerging from London’s independent film scene, Levi began working across cinematography and film journalism before directing a series of acclaimed short films. Most notable works THE SMELL OF CUT GRASS (2022), AN EIGHTH OF HIM (2023), and VISIONS OF A VIVID LIFE (2020) screened in cinemas and at Academy Award, BAFTA, and Canadian Screen Award–qualifying festivals worldwide. There first feature screenplay RECIPES FOR MICA HALLIDAY was selected by Film London for Production Finance Market at London Film Festival 2022. Second feature screenplay BODIES BORN TO DIE was picked up by Elysium Pictures. Levi still has new projects on the way including THE ALGORITHM OF LOSS (2026), BODIES (2026) and DELE (2026) in pre-production with Playhouse Pictures.

Their career lifted off with a critically acclaimed sci-fi series. Visions (2020) which won over 20 awards and nominations at international web festivals and the Pablo Cedron Award for Best Original Screenplay in 2021. The Smell of Cut Grass (2022) premiered and ran for a number of weeks at the Prince Charles Cinema in central London, it was screened for London Screen Academy as part of their prestigious masterclass series which has hosted the likes of Academy Award-winning director Guillermo Del Toro. An Eighth of Him (2023) funded by the BFI Network was selected for Film London’s shorts showcase in April 2023 and made its world premiere at 33rd Inside Out 2SLGBTQ+ Film Festival in Toronto, before it’s UK premiere in competition at the prestigious OSCAR, BAFTA and BIFA qualifying 38th Leeds International Film Festival. Later it went on to screen in major festivals in cities such as Boston, Berlin, Amsterdam, Athens and Manchester, winning Best London Film at Greenwich Film Festival, Best Screenplay at Collective Film Festival and Best Short Film at Sara Putt Associates annual foundation awards likened as “a British version of Moonlight”.

Other credits include a number of ads, documentaries, micro-shorts and guest episodes on other series. Having produced short-form work for Live Nation, G Network and RNIB. Alongside filmmaking, they have successful careers as a film writer, photographer and curator, with print and online work in essays, articles, interviews and short stories. Their films and writing work has captured interest from BFI, FILM 4, BBC Films, Mubi and others. Currently completing a BA in Linguistics and Culture at Birkbeck: University of London, Levi’s academic background informs their deep interest in language, identity, and the ways culture shapes human connection. Ideas that underpin much of their filmmaking.
